Job description

Big Creative Training is a well-established and expanding creative industry training provider with a long track record of delivering positive outcomes for learners. Our mission is to improve the lives of young people through high quality training and creative industry experiences.

We have more than 300 young people per year going through our vocational training programmes including apprenticeships and they all take qualifications in maths and English. We have great industry links and work with over 100 creative sector employers and SMEs

We are looking for an outstanding business development officer to join our team based in Walthamstow, East London. The successful candidate will have maths and English at GCSE grade “C” or above, and will be educated to degree level in a relevant area with evidence of outstanding practice in a similar setting.

Key tasks

  • Promote the BCT Creative Apprenticeship and to build a base of employers from the creative industry industries to employ Big Creative Training apprentices
  • To target Levy paying employers to contract directly with BCT to deliver creative apprenticeship standards
  • To liaise and work closely with other business development lead and candidate recruitment team support
  • To deploy, manage and update as required the BCT candidate and vacancy management system (Podio)
  • To ensure monthly apprentice start targets are achieved
  • To promote to employers the BCT traineeship scheme
  • To promote Big Creative shared workspace for employers interested in desks / business units within a managed creative workspace in E17 to launch early 2018
  • To provide a weekly updated employment report at the weekly team meeting
  • To ensure that employers comply with health and safety and duty of care responsibilities and complete required documentation to meet funding requirements
  • Quality improve all aspects of employer engagement including gathering employer feedback and ensuring programme design and delivery responds to employer needs

Desired qualities

  • Experience of working in the creative industries and educated to degree level in a relevant area
  • Extremely organised and able to manage own work load effectively
  • Highly motivated and driven to succeed in a competitive and rewarding environment
  • Proven track record of recent and ongoing industry experience and up to date knowledge of sector trends and developments, including entrepreneurial experience

Salary and days of work

  • This is a full time position with 22 days holiday a year. Salary is £29,000
