Job description

Skillnet is a specialist provider of Apprenticeships in the automotive sector. Operating nationally, each year we manage the training for more than 4000 people. We run the national Apprenticeship Programmes for Ford, Daf Trucks, Scania Great Britain and McLaren as well as programmes for independent motor businesses.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To complete daily operational tasks related to IT and MIS including the production of key business reports and analysis of data from main business systems.

KEY TASKS & ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • To run and amend operational management information reports for the Chief Executive and other Directors, managers and staff in accordance with established timescales/schedules.
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests for additional reports from managers when approved by the Director of IT.
  • Review, suggest and implement improvements to reporting practice and systems across the organisation.
  • Analyse, improve and maintain data accuracy.
  • Action additional IT administrative tasks including hardware and software support.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Qualifications
  • Degree in a relevant subject.
  • Additional qualifications in IT & Support.
  • Skills & Competencies
  • An understanding of databases and data models, particularly relational databases.
  • Ability to work with both reporting software and data querying languages (SQL and XML).
  • Knowledge of business systems, particularly Microsoft Dynamics CRM and MAYTAS.
  • Excellent knowledge of IT subjects and concepts including hardware, operating systems and common software packages (eg. Microsoft Office).
  • Excellent numerical skills.
  • Good analytical ability and detail oriented approach.
  • Motivated to learn new IT, data and reporting skills.
  • Full, clean driving licence.
  • Previous Experience
  • Working with multiple data sources and disparate business systems.
  • Working with reporting tools to produce accurate and informative reports.
  • Experience in diagnostics and resolving both hardware and software issues.
  • Personal qualities
  • Resilient and tenacious with a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
