My Pocket Tutor Project

The My Pocket Tutor project has been funded by the Traineeship Staff Support Programme (TSSP) via AELP and the ETF. The project will create a learner centred suite of mobile apps using the ‘My Pocket Tutor’ brand to upgrade provider capacity and stimulate take up of the Traineeship programme. The apps will offer a personal diagnostic tool, learning content, and support for the employer. Find out more


Extra Funding for Traineeships from BIS

LWBLA are pleased to announce that a London Wide Traineeships Directory is currently being developed and will be launched in September 2013. This directory will offer basic information and signposting for potential Traineeship learners, parents, carers, and other relevant stakeholders.

LWBLA members will be able to list their contact details, boroughs of operation and other relevant detail. The directory will also feature a link to the Providers website.

What are Traineeships?

Traineeships is a new programme for young people who want to work, but who need extra help to gain an apprenticeship or job. Traineeships will give these young people the opportunity to develop the skills and workplace experience that employers require.

Traineeships will be introduced from August 2013 for 16- to 24-year-olds (and young people with learning difficulty assessments up to academic age 25). Traineeships will fit within broader study programmes for 16- to 19-year-olds.
